Moderate daily consumption versus dangerous consumption

Is beer really healthy?

When we define health as a lack of disease then it is possible to scientifically research health by examining whether certain diseases are reduced or avoided under the influence of alcohol consumption. In practice, the question is whether drinking beer can prevent disease.

The western population mainly suffers from two prominent diseases: heart and circulatory disease and cancer. Heart and circulatory disease accounts for half of all deaths, while cancer is responsible for a quarter of all deaths. If beer is a healthy drink, then beer drinkers will not only live longer on average, but they will also suffer less from diseases such as cancer and heart and circulatory diseases. In other words, the effects of beer consumption on mortality due to heart and circulatory diseases and cancer have to be studied. The link between beer consumption and general mortality also has to be researched.
