ALCOHOL AND BODY TEMPERATURE

Question : Is it true that body temperature increases if you have a cold and drink alcohol?
Martha

Answer: No, body temperature does not increase after taking an alcoholic beverage. There is, however, a marked sensation of warmth, as the alcohol causes the subcutaneous blood vessels to dilate slightly, with the result that more blood flows through. That is why, during the winter months, we drink a swift drop of alcohol to enjoy that warm feeling.
